help children in Crossroads
Literacy booklets
Children in the Crossroads area of Cape Town were very excited after receiving
their Bible-based literacy booklets from the Bible Society. This followed a
request by Rev Rachel Mash from the
local Anglican Church in May. As schools
closed down during the lockdown period,
and with no other educational resources at
their disposal, the distribution of these 200
booklets gave the children something
to do. The Bible Society’s literacy
material promotes basic literacy,
as well as Bible literacy among
children. The church also
handed out masks, plant
seedlings and crayons.
