Coins for Bibles

The ‘Ned Geref’ Church St Helena Bay held a coin-laying event in March in
celebration of the Bible Society’s 200th anniversary. The occasion raised the
wonderful amount of R5 033,48.

Young ladies support
2 Million Bibles
project
Thanks to the funds raised by Bibliathon ’91, the Bible Society
could fulfil its promise to print one million extra Bibles.

A while back, two young girls heard
about the work of the Bible Society
of South Africa, specifically its
2 Million Bibles
project, and decided
to do something in support. Of their
own accord, Suzette and Lynette
van der Walt decided to walk and
cycle in their neighbourhood in order
to raise money. One kilometre later,
they had raised R1 000 – enough
to sponsor 10 Bibles and 10 sets of
Bible-based literacy booklets.
