• The Word Riders, a group of 15 motorcyclists and their support team left Bible House in Bloemfontein at 13:30 on 14 April for this year’s long tour. The first day took them as far as Vanderkloof and during the week they passed through De Aar, Prieska, Upington, Kakamas, Keimoes, Kuruman and Kimberley. Along the route, Bibles were distributed at a number of schools to children who cannot afford a Bible of their own. The event was also used to bring the activities of the Bible Society to people's attention. On Sunday 15 April thanksgiving services were led by members of the Word Riders team at Vanderkloof and in Petrusville. On the evening of 17 April a special dinner was held in Upington where Rev Gerrit Kritzinger, the Chief Executive Officer of the Bible Society, was the speaker and on 19 April a business breakfast was also hosted in Upington.
